Could it be a mid-engine version?

But don't go full retro again!

Mid-engine ... No, I don't see that happening.

That being said, I had wondered/hoped before about a Camaro based off the Corvette line , a real "poor-Vette" , LOL , mainly just to get more production out of an existing line ... not that they have a hard time selling enough corvettes.
Economy of scale type thing, since performance cars are not a HUGE market in and of themselves.
Corvette purists might freak the frack out, LOL.

Much more likely to be a 4 door, in which case , it had better be a Bad MotherFracker.

Not nearly as much love for a 4 door as I would have for a proper Camaro.

I've always liked the Pontiac G8, but I'm not certain the Camaro name belongs on a 4door.

You can almost accomplish the look in the 6th gen by blacking out the area around the headlights and filling in the gap in the middle of the upper grille area.

They spit balled a stripper Vette to focus groups when they were debuting the C5 FRC
It got a big thumbs down from the Vette group and that idea died right there.
I read that in Corvette Magazine.

Needing another Camaro

I doubt they do a ME
We are just lucky they are doing another one with an ICE
Agreed... I don't think it will be mid engine either. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on a C8, but I seen this news and now I'm waiting.

The Stingray is that "poor-Vette", I'd be surprised if a new Camaro had a mid-engine layout.

All the more because then it'll have to be a 2-seater, basically a Stingray competitor. GM wouldn't want that.
Lol, shows how much I follow the Corvette news cycles.
But yeah, i agree with your statement. I was just daydreaming a while ago of ways they could bring the Camaro back.
Never once did I have any thoughts of 2 seater or mid-engine design being a reality.

Well of course....
But if they had asked the Camaro focus groups , would you buy a stripper Corvette in place of a Camaro if the Camaro were to go off market...?
What do you suppose the answer would be?

I mean, if they asked the Camaro enthusiasts if they wanted a mour-door Camaro, who would have said yes?

All of that being said, look at the Jeep and Bronco .... enthusiasts dislike the 4 door and thought it was a bad idea.
Reality . ..
4 doors now outsell the 2 doors by a HUGE margin. (85% of sales according to Googler)

Thats why GM had brought it up in the first place to make an entry level car for the younger crowd.
Of course the Vette guys would vote it down
The FRC wound up costing almost as much (within $500.00)as the removable roof panel Vettes.

Since there isn't ANY Camaro coming.
Why not make it a Mid-Engine.

Totally fake news. So why not make up a Mid engine Car.

I heard from reliable insiders. people that know. It will be a Mid Enigi9ne 7'0L Screamer.
