My dad had one back in the day. it was just a silver painted bare metal box with some seats in it. Still cooler and more practical than any jeep my wife has ever owned.

V8 and Colorado are in conflict. GM had a hand in this segment with Hummer pre bankruptcy. So now 20 years later they may be back in. I laugh because the Bronco Sport is simply an Escape jacked up,with under body plating. I worked on a study to convert an Equinox into a Hummer 4.

Bronco sport was just a scam on soccer moms. Bronco is a scam on disgruntled wrangler owners. Same customers different wages.

I don't think I understand what you are saying. Is it that good/retro styling is a scam? Or is it something else about those particular vehicles that offends you?

They pretend the bronco sport is an off road vehicle and the regular broncos were selling for 80k for years.
My niece got a sport and came over to show me her new "bronco" with the offroad squawsnatch package. It was was not a bronco. It was a trick. They suckered her. But at least she loves it.

I still don't understand. Are you trying to say the BS and Bronco can't handle offroad? That the four wheel drive systems don't work? Not enough ground clearance for you?

I think they have a lot of flaws like all modern vehicles, such as too many electronics and small turbocharged engines, but not sure what the trick is.

Are you saying it's deceptive to have two vehicles with Bronco in the name and under informed consumers will think they bought one when they actually bought the other?

Yes deceptive on the bronco sport. i dislike the normal real bronco as it is waaay overpriced. a buddy of mine bought his wife a loaded up sasquatch to relate to my wifes gladiator and his wife hated it. they never took the doors or top off and complained about the road noise. She ended up with a 4 door porsche after a year or too. but i hate that thing more than the sport bronco my neice has. it offends me that porsche sells a minivan.

And dont think i dont know how much fun you can have in a minivan. i have delivered mail in ford transits and chrysler minivans. but i always prefered a jeep or truck.
I would like to see an iroc series with ford transits, lol. That would be the funnest thing you have ever seen.

My wife has a BS. I like it, but it has problems. They did something with a pump for the DCT where it wants to run continuously with the engine off and no one in the vehicle and it can discharge the battery. This only happened once and the dealer replaced the battery for free, but sometimes I still hear the pump running when I don't think it should be. The dealer won't acknowledge the issue. That's the biggest problem I have with it. I like the way it drives. I have no idea how it does off road. My wife wanted 4WD because she gets nervous about snow. We didn't buy the Sasquatch package. Seems unnecessary to us.

I agree with you that the Bronco is too expensive. The BS is too expensive as well. Really not just a problem with those cars, though. All new cars cost too much.

I think it's a little amusing that someone would get tricked by BS vs. Bronco. It's just not paying attention. They are pretty different inside and out. We saw both at dealers and sat in them in car shows. Ford also sent out emails offering test drives of the Bronco when it came out, so I drove it a little. We like the Bronco, but my wife worried about the top and the $$, so she went with the BS.
