Yes, the mid-sized Durango needs some competition. There are very few V8 mid-sized SUVs on the market. Towing capacity of the Durango is between 7,200 and 8,700 depending on options.I think the reintroduction of the Jimmy into the lineup is a great idea especially in body on frame form. When looking at midsize suv's most are unibody with a tow rating of 3500 - 5000 lbs. The Jimmy should better that rating. The 4Runner can tow 6000 lbs and the Grand Cherokee 7200 so target one of those. The option for a V8 sounds awesome I just hope it's not astronomically expensive.
When looking at midsize suvs I was surprised the Bronco (body on frame) only has a tow rating of 3500 lbs. The Raptor bumps up to 4500 lbs. We needed something to tow our boat and really liked the boxy look of the Bronco but it had the same tow rating as the van we were looking to replace.
