Not much going on in this category. We Aussies rely upon you guys for the latest info,.....so what's going on?
So, what engine options are there?.....imho, as far as ZL1 is concerned, it's gonna have to be good to be better than LT4. I can see LS6 in the SS, but for ZL1, it will have to be something better than that,....so, what are the predictions,.....a supercharged LS6?

I don't think there will be an SS for 7th Gen.

LT - RWD 2.7 four banger 340hp

LTX - AWD 2.7 four banger with electric drive system for front wheels (rRay) 400hp

ZL1- RWD 6.7 v8 525 hp

ZL1X - AWD 6.7 V8 with electric drive system for front wheels (eRay) 665HP

GMs Nascar Camaro uses the ZL1 badge only.

I would be surprised if they did an E AWD only because you can already get AWD in Alpha. And unless they do a HUGE update on Alpha2 it wonā€˜t package the electric motor/drive axle AND a battery. That being said they haven’t offered AWD in any of the V or V Blackwings.

Now what you also have to account for is three brands and what differences they need to have to differentiate them and also justify cost differences. I outlined what GM did with LWB Lambda in another post.

I agree on the L4, base across the board most likely scenario. But we also have a 5.7 that can slip in there. Annnd a small matter of a miscellaneous turbo 6 cylinder (maybe the Cadillac V.

A turbo 3.6 v6 would underperform the new 6.7 v8 and likely cost more.

I assume the updated new chassis will be modified for front wheel electrification to expand into the wet and icy winter climates and increase sales.

The front electrification could help improve fuel economy and performance as GM ditches superchargers on top models.

Alpha architecture already has AWD. As I mentioned, I’m not sure there is room for an electric motor up front and a battery in the trunk just robs space. And then you get into the biggest issue and that is how differentiate a V Blackwing from a Camaro. Can’t be the same.

I assume the Blackwing will be the 6.7 with a performance hybrid for Awd as standard as the top Blackwing was the top ZL1 (C7 Z06 engine)

In this case ZL1X = Blackwing

GM is killing off superchargers and C8 Z06/ZR1 engines are too wide and won't fit in the Camaro/Caddy front engine bay.

So it might likely just be a single electric motor hooked up between the engine and transmission and use the extra power to push Awd using its existing driveshaft for that. Maybe beefed up for added performance.

I don't think any info has been released by GM on the engines, but I could be wrong.

Of course, many of us want the new LS6 in some form. I want to see an LT6 available in some form, even if it's in a limited edition trim. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the decide to slap an LT2 in the SS, or whatever they end up calling it...

6.2 with AFM has such a bad reputation a new 6.7 with a big performance bump will help justify the 2028 $59,000 V8 base price.

4-door vs 2-door, detune the Camaro to have 15hp less.
