I expect the sedan first as it shares more components with Buick and Caddy variants
Maybe get a door a few years later to coincide with C9 Vette launch.
Share styling themes.
The problem of inflation and tariffs likely put the base 2028 V8 @ $59,000 so a sedan makes the price more easy to justify.
Lots of nicely used 6g ZL1 Camaros, and c6/c7/c8 corvettes under that price now for those who want two doors.
I would think a base Camaro with a 2.7 turbo will likely have 340 HP so it should be quicker than the 305hp from the 2015 LTZ 3.6. But I prefer the normally aspirated 3.6 v6 over a turbo 4 any day for its sound and reliability.
Sport sedans start looking very similar after a while.
On this Ai render I made the side window larger to give it better visibility which I assume the production model will have.
A 2015 6.2 V8 Chevrolet SS Sedan's MSRP adjusted for inflation would be $60,000 today. My guess a 2028 - 6.7 V8 Camaro sedan will start at $59,000 with a manual.
The 6th Gen was a great car. It never got the love it deserved. It got lost during the EV craze that was just starting in 2016 and then got over shadowed by the C8 in 2020.
Most of the complaints about it were dumb, but the reality is that GM has to make the 7th Gen not have any of those...
I view the Camaro concept as an extreme design theme.
It will have to fit on the longer CT5 platform and therefore become more conventional in the process. Just like the Buick would lose the extreme rear end.
If the Camaro, Buick, and Caddy all go with a Fastback hatch sedan style. My guess these are the design themes embraced on each variant.
Caddy likely using the Celestiq as styling source and Buick using the Orbit concept for inspiration.
I would expect these to be base model prices and motor...
I think GM is targeting NASCAR crowd with new Camaro Sedan.
Old dudes will appreciate the shorter doors and easier upright seating position that makes entering and exiting the Camaro much easier on the knees.. lol
