The 7th gen Camaro will now be a 2029 model year Camaro according to this GMauthotity report.

It will still offer ICE engines, RWD, manual transmission option, ride on Alpha 2 platform and have 4 doors.

Its for the best, get the government to drastically roll back or dissolve the power of

1. NHTSA
2. EPA
3. FHWA
4. CBP
5. DOT

they have been destroying cars since the fake 70's gas shortages. someday kids will be in baby seats until they are 18.

They have 20 other names to use for a 4 door, Yet they choose to ruin the Camaro legacy!
Who cares if it has manual transmission, Not many people want a stick in a family hauler.
I sure hope that's fake news!

These aren't facts, though, GM Authority does unveil concepts and products prematurely on occasion. I typically only believe model and trim announcements when I can build them on GM's website.

Nevertheless, if the 2029 does come out and turns out to be a 4-door sedan, I'll thank GM for preserving the resale value of my 2018 😁

Can't see the point of launching the Gen 7 Camaro as a 4 door, which surely would encroach on the market of CT5V, more than likely taking sales from that brand/model. So what would be the point of that. Gotta be a coupe for my money, with at least as much power as the Gen 6 LT4.

Most news claimed it will be "Camaro successor" and that it's not sure if it will carry that name actually

Yeah, if it's 4 door, I like the idea of bringing back the Impala with an SS variant. Maybe a Camaro coupe could show up afterwards if these sedans across Chevy/Buick/Cadillac are successful.

It's going to depend on the four door to be honest.
Now, I could not wait for a new Chevy/Buick/CT5 to be built, so I get another car as my wife's old was was literally destroying my right knee because of how big my feet are and long my legs are.

I've ended up with the M850i Gran Coupe (lightly used, so depreciation had kicked in a bunch) , which is the 4 door variant of the M850 coupe/convertible version. (it honestly has a very similar profile shape to the Mustang GT in 2 door trim)

Couple of things. It's a compromised vehicle. the rear seats are very nice...provided you are under 5'10" in height (possibly shorter), but it only fits two in reality. Plenty of legroom in the back too.
The rear window is also very small in comparison to a traditional sedan. It's not 4 series GC bad, but bad enough. Think of looking out the back of a crew cab long bed with a cap on it and that's the idea of how small a perspective it is.

The side of the trunk is also much smaller. It's probably about 4 cubic feet smaller than the 5 series.

That said, it reminds me a lot of the good things about my old Ford Thunderbird. It's a great highway cruiser and goes like a bat out of hell when you mash to go fast pedal.

Having owned the GC for a week, I would say that I would have much rather had a traditional sedan and if they had made one, I would have bought it. So if Chevy bring out a "Gran Coupe" design as the 4 door offering, I think there will be disappointment all around.. Those who want a Camaro will be disappointed, those who want an SS replacement will be disappointed.

I think Chevy should drop a coupe, Buick a 4 door with a NA V8 and a turbo 6 as a top tier, and Caddy should get a 4 door as well. with a super/turbocharged V8

I’m by no means a marketing expert, but a Camaro sedan makes zero sense given the caddy and Buick.

Then I look at stellantis…. Yea, that’s just as likely to happen because there seems to be zero accountability for the folks that are running some of these companies into the ground. Mary really seems like a Tavares type CEO. She was all in on EV’s. Consumers that prefer ICE- especially ICE sportscars- are a natural enemy. Pissing off legacy Camaro people would be a feature not a bug. If the political winds don’t shift and she gets canned, the only ā€˜downside’ is a golden parachute.

It's funny that I had a 2022 Camaro, with no back seat room. So, I got a CT4-V it doesn't have any room in the back seat either. So, what makes everybody that a 4-door Camaro would either. The Camaro with its high sill windows didn't help thinks. By the end of 2027 will have all the info we need to decide. With Chevy dropping new engines all the time we may all be shocked on what they drop in the engine bay.

Most reports are that this new vehicle will be the size of a CT5, not CT4.
