It will continue to offer four powertrain options, including two next-generation V8s and an enhanced 2.7L TurboMax that delivers best-in-class standard torque2, now paired with a 10-speed transmission. The lineup also offers the proven segment-exclusive Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel.
At the heart of the new Silverado 1500 is its most capable and refined powertrain lineup ever, led by available next-generation 5.7L and 6.6L V8 engines. Building on Chevrolet’s performance legacy — including the recently announced Corvette LS6 6.7L V8 — these new engines will be assembled by the skilled teams at GM’s Flint Engine Operations, Tonawanda Propulsion3, and St. Catharines Propulsion plants.

It will be interesting to see this play out. Seems like a refinement than anything segment leading. Great to see the interior step up a bit although a LOT of bitching on line over too many screens. But everyone forgets when you buy an $80,000 High Country you expect an $80,000 interior.

they do need to get the powertrains right though. GM has handicapped themselves a bit over the past few years. A lot of unhappy customers right now. But hey! Toyota is failing engines in their Tundra right left and Sunday.
