Seems like the whole article is just a summary of this forum and all of our discussions. Like GM is running the idea through the enthusiasts first to see what really matters to us out of the next Gen platform.

That's fairly accurate.

I love the idea of a manual option for those that want it. While I would probably never use it, it makes tons of sense, especially it it's a good transmission.

Second, I hope there is room for a 2 door pony car in the lineup. Having three distinct versions of the car, with both economy levels of performance for the masses, and a performance level for the enthusiast (and extreme halo level performance for those with the wallet to match their enthusiasm.) makes sense.
109-116 inch wheelbase for the Chevy, 116 inch wheelbase for the Buick, 116-122 inch wheelbase for the new CT5. This gives us three sizes, with possible multiple sizes per maker. Heck, I would even take a 120 inch wheelbase Buick with 109 and 116 for the Chevy and Caddy respectively. Just make sure each gets the V8. Don't leave buick owners in the performance lurch. I would even accept a well styles Buick estate car (wagon) if it had the performance and price to back it up.

Third, and most importantly, I hope this give GM the sustainable performance models that it needs/wants

I like the idea of GM working to sell Camaro to younger buyers, since the Gen 6 average was 52 years old. I think the best way is to make the product as inexpensive as possible. There are plenty of young people who want a performance vehicle, but costs are just too high right now.

The car manufacturers have to remember they are competing against the used market. I haven't bought a new car since 2015 due to prices vs. performance. I'm an old fart and I could actually afford new, but even in 2020 the prices were too high in my opinion. Since then prices have increased significantly.

Agreed. If it looks like this, I would seriously consider it. Kinda like their approach to backseat access with the door going a little further to the back, also like the functional rear windows vs those tiny things they called windows on the 6th gens

4 door camaro? ever heard of Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme sedan, Chevy Malibu, Pontiac Bonneville, and Buick Century? plenty of names out there for 4 door parts cars.
Whoever floated the for door rumor should be promoted to minivan and fleet truck duty.

Over half of my Camaros over the years have been MTs. From Gen1 to Rally Sports, Z28 and more. My Gen 5 and Gen 6 2SSRS, have been auto with the tap shift. Honestly, the Gen 5 & 6 handled Great. But the MTs challenged your driving abilities much more. There were no Nanies to correct your mistakes. You better learn to drive it, or, park it. So, I guess the question is, what kind of driving experience are you looking for?

Rev limiter, hill start assist, synchronized reverse, rev matching, in dash current gear indicator. So many nannies. Lol

I'd love the small rear window to be functional as well but I think the decision to make them fixed comes down to crash test ratings. Same reason we didn't see Ttops considered from 2010 - 2024. The Camaro concept from 2006 also showed the small rear window as being functional but didn't make it to production.

Good point. Maybe not necessarily functional, but at least big enough to be useful would be a good change, IMO.
