Design definitely matters. I also don't care much how it sells. I care whether it's a vehicle that I want to buy or not.

If it is, great.

If it's a four door, or an electric appliance, or has some abysmal engine in it then I'll wish Chevy well and buy something else. That new 2 door Charger SuperBee might look good parked next to my SS 1LE, though I would prefer a V8 to a twin turbo straight six.

Exactly.

Some people act as if we were supposed to think like we manage GM and must understand (and sympathize with) whatever nonsense they're attempting to balance with their product portfolio, or how well a particular GM product would sell and to what audiences.

All this is their problem.

Our problem is to decide whether a vehicle they put out is amazing enough for us to spend so much of our hard earned money on.
