I agree in general, and now, with aftermarket digital gauge clusters and large Android radio units popping up, most of the electronics can be upgraded, too.
Unfortunately I don't see GM selling a new Camaro at a reasonable price anymore, they've become too fat with insane overheads tacked...
Those lights look dated even when replaced with aftermarket LED counterparts. Nostalgia alone doesn't sell more cars, even in the shrinking muscle and sports car market.
If I don't misremember, the Zeta platform that the 5th gen was built on was not sustainable, because it physically couldn't be tweaked to pass incoming regulations. GM had to design a new architecture regardless of sales volumes.
That said, much as I love the 6th gen and think it's borderline...
Makes sense, given the 6th gen was almost there: you only need a sensor, a single pin and a quick tune. All other parts on the car are already ethanol compatible.
Well hello there, "newcomer" :D
As I tend to say, visibility and headroom could be improved by slightly lowering the beltline and raising the roofline, and the trunk opening would be way more usable with split taillights. This alone takes care of half the usability complaints.
A bit of...
Why is the Alpha architecture expensive to use in 2026? It's well over a decade old, base R&D must have been recouped long ago, and manufacturing is simply about churning out metal and plastic pieces like with every other architecture, I don't think it has anything special in terms of material...
Number 3, are you implying it's now a given that the 7th gen Camaro (if it does materialize) will be a sedan?
Because if not, then why couldn't a coupe be allowed to have Blackwing-like or better performance, it isn't a direct competitor. I'm also not sure the CT5-V Blackwing has that much more...
Just curious, but if all these are identical, how is the Camaro going to be different from being simply another Cadillac trim? At least could the rear and the interior be completely different, or is that too expensive, too?
Only if it's a Camaro and better than mine in every way, plus the price is tolerable.
Not interested otherwise---after all, I could just get a CT5-V Blackwing anytime if I wanted a sedan and I were willing to spend $100K+ on a fun car.
For the record, I don't like admins banning or deleting posts from people who are simply obnoxious, nothing more. Why would we want to prevent others from seeing their posts and forming an opinion?
IMO the basic shape of a car matters much, much more than its internals when applying monikers.
This is not about resistance to change but brand dilution, with GM trying to drum up extra sales by appealing to nostalgia while misleading people into thinking a totally different vehicle is...
This article makes it sound like GM is doing some kind of favor or charitable service to V8 engines by keeping them on the menu. Nothing can be far from the truth, and I for one wouldn't want a consolation prize engine kept alive solely for nostalgia anyway.
Also, a 4-door sedan can be an...
I agree with you 100% on feature subscriptions in cars, and if it were up to me, they would be outlawed tomorrow. That doesn't mean GM isn't rushing to increase revenues from this model.
As I said, the cost associated with subscriptions is minuscule compared to that of manufacturing vehicles...
