2029 Camaro - model year report

Yep, could be- especially given they’re still doing AFM… That said, I’ve had more than a few Chevy trucks from 1980 to early 2000’s. The V8 engines, in every single case, were entirely dependable… Just like healthcare, the government got too involved. Did their involvement help the environment...

2029 Camaro - model year report

If seems like they could announce something… If for no other reason, it gets people excited. That said, if they don’t address the L87 mess, they won’t be producing a Camaro- they’ll be bankrupt or too busy begging for another bailout. That L87 uncertainty hasn’t seemed to affect the corvette...

The best wheels you've ever seen and want on your 7th gen Camaro?

Agree, but I would add as 3rd- the wheels offered on last version of challenger/ charger SRT ScatP & hellcat.

2029 Camaro - model year report

I get it. If it’s a sedan, 99% chance I’ll be driving my dodge RAM to car shows to look at everyone else’s toys. Best case, I find a cream puff Gen 6 Z with a for sale sign in it!

2029 Camaro - model year report

It sure would be nice if they would announce something, but I think we’re screwed. Given the initial C8 investment, seems more likely they want to force coupe buyers into the C8 upsell/ cash grab phase of that production run. The $4k rebate for current Camaro owners certainly supports that...

2029 Camaro - model year report

I have a strong preference for 2 door as well… 4 door? never say never, but I’d prefer they name it something else : SS, Chevelle, Malibu, or impala. There are charger hellcat wide bodies I’d be willing to buy. It’s a decent looking sedan with great int/ext color combos to choose from (F8...

2029 Camaro - model year report

And if offered, it WILL be expensive. Look at C8 GS as an example. Despite a pretty lengthy C8 production run, a reasonably equipped GS is roughly equal to what would’ve purchased a nicely optioned Z06 in 24/25’! I wish I would’ve pulled the trigger on a ZLE pre covid… Or kept my hellcat...

2029 Camaro - model year report

Agree especially in snowy winter climates like here in the rust belt. A RWD sedan is equally practical to a coupe during winter. That is, it isn’t. You throw some stabilizer in it, top off the gas, and put it away for at least 3 months if you’re lucky! They’ll have to add AWD to sell a...

2029 Camaro - model year report

A sad, sad reality. They certainly are not passing along savings from relaxation of the CAFE/EPA/ carbon credit kabuki. The C8 GS is going to sit on lots once the initial hoopla is over; especially without an aero delete order option. It really sucks because the supply has squeezed the used...

2029 Camaro - model year report

I would think a 2 door could survive given it is sharing chassis, some supply chain, and production facility with the Buick and Cadillac. A 2 or 4 door option would be ok with me, but the end result won’t be the best coupe or sedan, of course. I would have a strong preference for a coupe...

2029 Camaro - model year report

I’m by no means a marketing expert, but a Camaro sedan makes zero sense given the caddy and Buick. Then I look at stellantis…. Yea, that’s just as likely to happen because there seems to be zero accountability for the folks that are running some of these companies into the ground. Mary really...

Found something in a carspotter group

I like it. Finish it in bright yellow and I’m in! Especially with a supercharged 6.7L (no AFM, please). I know… I’m dreaming.

Found something in a carspotter group

Yep. Since the folks at SRT are in the ā€˜find out’ phase, maybe they’ll come up with something? If GM intends to sell that thing, it had better be a VERY aggressively priced 6.7L six speed manual… And I still don’t see a Camaro badge accomplishing much of anything other than wrecking the Camaro...

    Introductions & Welcome Thread šŸ‘‹

My vehicle history: 1970 Camaro (cortez silver then yellow- waaay back when in high school 1986) More recently 1971 RS/Z28 black w/ tan interior … window sticker car. should’ve kept that one… 2019 F8 challenger hellcat (sold during covid) Still trying to find a bright yellow gen 6 ZLE…...

Agree, the spoiler is the tell… I’m definitely out if it looks anything like this. Resembles a 2013 or so accord ā€˜sport’ lol.

Found something in a carspotter group

What spooked me is how similar it looks to the ā€˜new’ nascar Camaro… I just feel a big let down coming. Especially given Al O. retired.

New pics: "Nascar Camaro" was most likely just their generic showcar

I really liked his rendering of the Z28… but it’s all speculation. He does have some solid contacts at GM, however. šŸ¤ž

I hope this isn’t the new Camaro, but it sort of looks the part. Looks very similar to the nascar. If so, it’s boring. Unremarkable 🄱

7th gen Camaro design previewed by next gen NASCAR Camaro first look?

According to ā€œAmerican cars and racingā€ on YouTube, it’ll be a sedan disguised as a coupe- with the rear door handles hidden. This sounds on the level of fake sound for a ā€˜muscle EV’. That might just work as a Chevelle. Camaro? Nope.
