He won't have to wait until I die, just until I can trust him to not kill himself. An SS 1LE is a big step up from a 4 banger Mustang. Having said that, I'm about 42 years older than him, so he probably won't be that old when I shuffle off, younger than I am now.
You could be right. I'm holding off on a Corvette purchase until the 8th gen comes out because I figure the 7th gen used pricing will drop off a bit. Hoping to swoop in and pick up a ZR1 for maybe a $150K or so.
Maybe. My SS 1LE is certainly a toy and you're correct that I don't really care about gas prices, but then, I'm buying gas and insurance for five vehicles, none of which get particularly good mileage. Having said that, my son's Mustang Ecoboost is an every day driver.
I think most Camaro...
I think gas price volatility is a part of it too. Interest rates are higher compared to where they were 5 years ago or so, but historically they're still fairly low. I think I could get mid 5% if I wanted a car loan, which isn't great, but not bad either.
Automobile choices are definitely...
It’s hard to design an innovative attractive, affordable vehicle. Unfortunately it’s really easy to take a great vehicle (6th Gen Camaro) and turn it into tasteless unappealing mush (the thing in camo).
You're probably right, but I hope they go the other direction and give us a track focused monster. Something with really aggressive sleek futuristic styling. I hope they go big and throw the dice on something that comes with a Mustang GTD beating option rather than trying to beat the sales of...
If Chevy wanted a mid engine one tier down from the Corvette they have plenty of names to choose from without confusing what a Camaro is all about.
Why not go across brands and resurrect the Firebird under the Chevy nameplate. It was basically a Camaro with some aero, stickers and interior...
Equal or better chassis, two door, M6, V8 with 500+ hp/tq, a better stereo, upgraded electronics and interior and the 1LE package. Yeah, I would be in. Conveniently it’s my turn in the new vehicle purchase rotation.
I think it’s hard to significantly improve the 6th gen ‘use ability’.
Form - it’s already pretty sculpted and the outside looks great. Better paint maybe and better interior trim. Ditch the alcantara.
Function - hard to improve 6th gen 1LE handling, but more power would be cool. A place to...
2 doors, manual transmission, more power and for crying out loud put a decent stereo in it. My youngest son’s Ranger has an infinitely better sound system.
